French Film, “Le Cousin Jules” Tuesday, October 28

Watch for the upcoming screening of “Le Cousin Jules” (presented in French by the Utah Film Center). This masterpiece of cinema, once lost, has been restored, and is available for one night only in Salt Lake City on Tuesday, October 28.

Le Cousin Jules was the result of 5 years (1968-1973) of work by director Dominique Benicheti and cinematographer Pierre-William Glenn. Over that period, the team recorded the lives of Jules and Felicie, French farmers living in the countryside. The result is a record of a way of life that vanished long ago.
Winner: Grand Jury Prize—1973 Locarno Film Festival; Official Selection: 2013 Berlin International Film Festival, 2013 Vienna Film Festival, 2012 New York Film Festival
